Katie Holmes has officially filed for divorce from Tom Cruise. They have a six year old daughter Suri, and it seems the main cause for divorce is Tom’s religious connection with Scientology. Katie was afraid Tom would force Suri into Scientology and send her away to a camp common for Scientology believers.
A huge factor in the divorce was that Katie filed in New York rather than California where they were married. Katie is wanting full custody of Suri and she has a better chance to do so if she filed in New York.
This already seems like a nasty divorce! Tom also claims he was blind sided by the divorce papers saying he never saw this coming.
Let the custody battle begin!
